Slaps.video is a multiplayer party game where friends compete to find the most creative, entertaining, or hilarious YouTube video that represents a given song—anything except the official music video. Each round, a rotating judge picks a song and players race against the clock to search and lock in their best find. The twist: once a player claims a video, it's off-limits to everyone else, creating a frantic scramble for the perfect pick. After submissions close, videos are revealed anonymously on a shared screen, and the judge awards points based on their favorites. Built with Ruby on Rails, Hotwire, and real-time updates via ActionCable, the app delivers a seamless mobile-first experience that brings the energy of a classic parlor game into the digital age.
