Now

What I'd tell a friend I hadn't seen in a year. Where I am, what I'm building, what I'm reading, watching, and listening to.

Living in New Paltz, getting back into rock climbing

I moved up to New Paltz, a few minutes from the Gunks, and I'm climbing again after too long away. The goal this season is learning to lead trad: placing my own gear, building anchors, and trusting the cams. It is humbling and it is the most present I feel all week.

If you climb and you're passing through the Hudson Valley, say hi. I'm always looking for partners.

02 Going

Going to RailsWorld 2026 in Austin

I'll be at RailsWorld 2026 in Austin. A few things I'm bringing with me:

  1. The Agent Ready 2.0 release of RailsPress, the Rails CMS I've been building for my own sites and now for yours.
  2. railsworld.avi.nyc, a little app I built to keep track of who I meet at the conference. You can use it too.
  3. Trying to get my Rails app with an agent harness ready to open source. More soon, but check out blastoff-rails.avi.nyc for some hints.

If you're going, find me. I want to hear what you're building.

03 Working

Innovent Capital, PostMoney.ai, and a software factory

At Innovent Capital I'm working on launching PostMoney.ai and setting up our software factory: the tooling, conventions, and agent workflows that let a small team ship a lot of software well.

Personal projects keeping me busy

The side projects never stop. Right now:

Watching, reading, listening

Watching

I'm excited to watch the Knicks win it again in 2027. I made a microsite about it: knicks2026.win.

I can't wait for The Only Living Pickpocket in New York. John Turturro as an aging pickpocket in a city that changed around him. Here's the trailer:

Reading

Next up is Stoner by John Williams. Everyone I trust says it's one of the quiet greats.

Listening

Still playing my afro house mix from Fall 2023 on repeat.
